Full Job Description
To enter, pick, prepare and load 5-10 orders per day (~1-3 LTL pallets and 3-7 UPS/FedEx/USPS small packages). That is the primary responsibility. Other duties include answering product questions, inventory counts, light mechanical testing/troubleshooting, warehouse organization/management.
Essential Functions/Duties:
Receive, load, un-load, count, weigh, measure, organize, code and store materials on or from freight delivery vehicles (box trucks/containers/flatbeds/enclosed trailers).
Move material using appropriate material handling tools and equipment including but not limited to: by-hand, hand truck, pallet-jack, dolly, and/or operation of forklifts or other vehicles.
Open and/or unwrap crates, boxes, cartons, and other containers using hammers, crowbars, cutting tools and tape.
Wrap, seal, and secure material on pallets for distribution.
Report any discrepancies in receiving to designated supervisor/manager.
Assist in the maintenance of a periodic or perpetual inventory of stock as it is received or issued, including items used for warehouse operations (shrink wrap, tape, forklift fuel, boxes, packaging materials, etc).
Clean work areas and maintain equipment in an orderly manner.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.Inventory control and warehouse organization.
Basic computer order entry, printing and bill of lading/shipping label creation.
Packing and shipping products on a daily basis, meeting shipped deadlines.
Qualifications
Required Experience: Prefer experience as a Material Handler/Warehouse Associate with working knowledge of inventory systems, proper storage methods and record keeping, Must be forklift certified.
Required Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED. Possession of a valid driver’s license, must have a good driving record. Forklift certification required, or will be provided for if otherwise qualified.
Other Requirements: Must be able to work majority of shift standing. Frequent lifting of 25 to 50 pounds (10 lifts per day on average) and occasional lifting of over 75 pounds is required. Must be able to move merchandise and physically participate in container unloads, warehouse reorganizations and miscellaneous projects as necessary. Most important requirement is the ability to work safely and in a self-directed manner.
