Hiring Range: $12.96 - $16.56 per hour, DOE
Salary Range: $12.96 - $19.46 per hour, DOE
This position will primarily work Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 3:30pm. May also be asked to work weekends from time to time.
Serves as a Site Supervisor at the Meridian Homecourt. Provides customer service, education and information to all customers regarding the Meridian Homecourt. Performs routine facility inspection, assists office staff, and sets up facility events, classes, and rentals on a daily basis. Oversees part-time facility staff on a nightly basis under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator (Facility Manager).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Set up facilities for sports events, community education classes and rentals;
Locks and unlocks recreation facilities;
Performs facility inspections;
Performs minor field/gym maintenance on a nightly basis;
Checks scoreboard & game clock equipment before each game;
Notifies officials of any equipment problems;
Acts as official scorekeeper when needed;
May act as a backup for Site Supervisors and set up fields and or other gym facilities;
Records score and times of games by keeping a hand-written or electronic log;
Communicates with League managers and enforces league rules;
Officiates Adult Sports when needed;
Reports league scores and standing to Adult Sports Coordinator;
Performs roster checks when needed;
Reports accidents using approved forms;
Reports to the Recreation Coordinator (Facility Manager) on a weekly/daily basis;
Monitors sports rosters for illegal players;
Assists Recreation Coordinator (Facility Manager) and/or other Recreation Coordinators;
Assists with the Department’s needs, such as events, athletic tournaments, and youth programs at other City owned facilities;
Speak to general public regarding league rule changes or clarifications in a professional manner;
Enforce city ordinances, such as smoking & alcohol policies, as well as all Homecourt Facility policies and procedures;
Assist as a back-up receptionist and telephone console operator, receiving and transferring of incoming calls, taking telephone registration information, and provides general department information as required;
Oversees recreational staff on a nightly basis under direction of the Recreation Coordinator (Facility Manager);
Perform other related duties as assigned or needed.
Must be at least 18 years of age;
CPR and First Aid certified highly desired, but not required;
Visual acuity to read officials hand signals;
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Ability to act in an emergency;
Ability to work as a team player;
Ability to communicate with management, co-workers and general public with respect and in a pleasant, courteous manner.
Must have good public relations skills;
Must be a good organizer;
Must be able to work evenings and some weekends;
Must display an attitude of cooperation and the ability to work well with others;
Integrity, in the performance of assigned tasks;
Licensing and Certification:
Must have clean driving record and current driver’s license.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to temperature changes, night lighting and is subject to outside environmental conditions;
Constantly requires clarity of speech and hearing, which permits the employee to communicate effectively;
Frequently requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers;
Constantly requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in an outside environment to accomplish tasks;
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must lift/carry up to 100 lbs.
Local travel may be occasionally required.
