Position Overview

Job Description: We are seeking a Staff Accountant with 3+ years of experience whose strengths lie in general ledger accounting. Experience in real estate or hotel management is preferred, but not required. This position is in Eagle, ID and will be responsible for various accounting and reporting functions for a portfolio of hotels. In this position you will interact with corporate executives, hotel general managers and perform daily tasks related to the financial reporting and performance of the company’s portfolio of hotels. Position includes generous Marriott travel benefits.

Duties include but are not limited to; reviewing and maintaining sales and use tax data, reviewing and posting of hotel operations, preparing month-end AP entries, reconciling bank accounts, compiling financial reports to management and/or owners.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy of hotels’ daily performance reports
  • Review and approve sales and use tax information provided by hotel general managers which may include reviewing and researching variance analyses and proposing adjustments
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget for each hotel and other incidental reporting needs
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Build and maintain schedules related to AP, cash, taxes, and other GL accounts
  • Provide accurate and timely financial information to other departments and under specific deadlines
  • Provide regular reporting to hotel operations personnel regarding revenue and expense trends and metrics, as well as analyze and benchmark performance
  • Prepare monthly accrual journal entries, including intercompany income and expense allocations
  • Attend and participate in team meetings

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with flexibility to adapt and adjust on an ad hoc basis
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Experience in M3 and FOSSE software is preferred, but not required
  • Team player with a collaborative approach

Qualifications & Education:

  • Applicant with bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred, but not required
  • 3+ years of strong, general, full-cycle accounting experience, preferably in real estate or hotel management
