The Idaho Academy of Family Physicians (IAFP) is seeking an experienced executive director to oversee all operations, functions and activities of the organization. The IAFP is a professional organization representing more than 800 family physician and medical student members. The executive director is a face of the organization and is responsible to the physician led board of directors for the effective administration and management of the IAFP. The desired candidate will demonstrate problem solving and strategic management skills and exhibit a high level of personal and ethical standards. The executive director will be recommending and participating in board formulation of the association’s mission, goals, and objectives and related policies.

The key responsibilities of the executive director include organizing, coordinating, controlling, and directing the programs, and activities of the association. The IAFP Executive Director will have the unique opportunities to build and foster collaborating relationships with national, state and community partners interested in advancing primary care medicine in Idaho and across the nation.

Skills Needed:

  • Effective communications and leadership skills
  • Knowledgeable about primary care/Family Medicine issues
  • Background in marketing and/or finance
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (specifically Microsoft word, Excel, Access, Quickbooks and webpage software)
  • Proficient website administration
  • Self-disciplined, energetic, passionate, innovative
  • Organized and well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and outreach to other community health care organizations and personnel

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above or comparable training and experience.
  • Three to five years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
