Field Technician- County Abatement Crews

Enjoy working outdoors in beautiful Ada County from early spring into November.


Field Technicians help control pests and mosquito populations in Ada County open space and road sides with traps and EPA registered deterrents

  • Control and eliminate mosquito population using surveillance, larvicides and adulticides
  • Control and manage pests in Ada County open space and road sides with traps and EPA registered deterrents.
  • Keeps accurate records of all applications, traps, and prepares reports on activities
  • Operate various equipment including 1-ton pick-up truck, ATVs
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment. Ensure proper operation of and maintain various traps, sprayers, etc.
  • Learn the proper uses of larvicides and adulticides, and apply according to the label directions
  • Deal tactfully with the public and communicate clearly and concisely; both orally and in writing


  • Must possess and maintain a valid Idaho driver's license with a good driving record to operate vehicles and equipment. Basic math/measurement skills.


The nature of the work will require the employee to be in out the field for majority of the shift (8 hours) under various weather conditions.

The work will require moving, transporting, and using pesticides and mosquito control methods.

Must be able to lift 35 lbs. regularly, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

PAID Training!  All training and instruction materials provided. (training paid at $12.50 p/h) Once licensed, pay increases to $13.00 p/h.

Seasonal position, full-time, day-shift hours lasting into November.
