JOB TITLE: Director of Sales and Catering
REPORTS TO: General Manager
The following job description pertains to the Director of Sales and Catering. This job description is designed to provide the applicant information on areas of responsibility, which applies to them. Has the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
Possesses strong Guest Service skills and communication skills.
Develop and implement a quarterly Sales and Catering marketing plan.
Develop and implement advertising promotion plans. Oversee marketing/advertising for Restaurant, Lounge and Hotel.
Increase banquet sales by calling past and current clients, calling on potential clients and re-booking once-a-year clients such as Christmas parties, Shriner’s, PEO, etc..
Return all calls received regarding functions, such as meeting space, banquets, weddings, reunions, retirement parties, etc. within 24 hours or less after the call is received.
To complete guest evaluations and thank you cards within 24 hours of a function and have them mailed to the client. Immediately address all deficiencies on the evaluation at the weekly BEO meetings.
Ensure billing process is set up in the PMS(Property Management System) and that payments and deposits are credited within 24 hours of receipt
Collaborate with the General Manager to develop marketing strategies and campaigns. Design and produce all in-house sales and marketing collateral.
Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Manager to design and produce restaurant menus.
Analyze monthly Hotelligence Report and make follow up assignments.
Oversee website content, keeping information and pictures current.
Respond to RFP’s (request for proposal) from Key accounts.
Set up hotel packages.
Develop a plan to know the competition (adopt a hotel program) and work to steal market share.
Attend sales training, brand training and region trainings as needed.
Attend community events to learn of upcoming events and possible business: Chamber Luncheons, After Hours, Leadership Ontario, and Lodging Association.
Attend local and state trade shows.
Maximizing and managing yield, occupancy and ADR for the hotel. Be involved in every revenue meeting.
Master the ACT Program and use it successfully as a tool to trace and track all business. Upon the completion of learning ACT the Director of Sales and Catering will submit weekly call reports to the General Manager.
If the Director of Sales and Catering cannot come to work due to illness or family emergency he or she should contact the General Manager and the front desk 4 hours prior to start of shift.
Work with the General Manager to submit a yearly budget to the corporate office.
Wear proper uniforms and name tags.
Communicate any problems or questions from guests to management immediately.
Memorize and be an example to the mission statement of TQ Properties.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently lifting and/or carrying from 5 pounds and up to 50 pounds. On occasion will be required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. You may also be working with commercial grade chemicals for cleaning.
