Position Title: Production Operator
Department: Manufacturing
Location: Oroz 
Reports To: Josh Hammer
Employment Type: Full-Time 
Shift: Day Shift, rotating between the following schedules:

  • 3 on, 4 off: 12-hour shifts
  • 4 on, 3 off: 10-hour shifts

Salary: $17.00, shift differential and plus monthly bonus


Position Summary

The Production Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery in a manufacturing facility. The role includes setting up, monitoring, and adjusting equipment to ensure the production of high-quality products. The Production Operator will work closely with the production team to meet daily production targets while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to produce products within quality specifications.
  • Quality Control: Inspect products during production to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications. Report any defects or deviations to the Production Supervisor.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure it operates efficiently. Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues as they arise.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Production Reporting: Accurately record production data, including quantities produced, machine performance, and downtime. Communicate any production issues to the Production Supervisor.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient production environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other production operators, supervisors, and quality control personnel to achieve production goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred. Experience with specific machinery or processes relevant to the facility is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
    • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
    • Capability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
    • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, heat, and machinery.

Work Environment

  • The role is based in a manufacturing facility with varying temperatures and noise levels. The position may require standing for long periods and operating machinery that requires focus and attention to detail.

  • Production Output: Meeting or exceeding daily/weekly production targets.
  • Quality Standards: Maintaining high-quality production with minimal defects or rework.
  • Safety Compliance: Adherence to all safety protocols with zero incidents.
  • Downtime Management: Efficiently managing machine downtime to minimize production disruptions.
