Shipping And Receiving WarehouseThe Shipping & Receiving Specialist safely loads, unloads, moves, and stages decking products throughout the yard using large-capacity forklifts ranging from 8,000 to 12,000 pounds. This role supports daily shipping and receiving operations by verifying incoming and outgoing materials, assisting with truck weigh-ins and weigh-outs, maintaining accurate inventory records, and using computers and supply chain management systems to track product movement. The specialist learns to identify a wide variety of decking products, keeps the work area organized, and ensures shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. The position involves frequent lifting of 50 to 75 pounds, requires strong attention to safety, and demands the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.ResponsibilitiesSafely operate large-capacity industrial forklifts (8,000 to 12,000 lbs.) to load, unload, move, and stage decking products throughout the yard.Verify incoming and outgoing materials against documentation to ensure accuracy of shipments and receipts.Assist with truck weigh-ins and weigh-outs to support accurate shipping and receiving documentation.Maintain accurate inventory records and support inventory control activities in the warehouse and yard.Utilize computers and supply chain management systems to track product movement and update inventory status.Learn to identify and distinguish a wide variety of decking products to ensure correct handling and shipping.Organize, clean, and maintain a safe and efficient work area in the yard and warehouse.Perform general warehouse and production tasks, including loading trucks, order pulling, and palletizing materials.Operate additional material handling equipment such as pallet jacks as needed.Handle frequent heavy lifting of 50 to 75 pounds while following safe lifting techniques.Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and adjust work practices to maintain safety and productivity.Follow all safety procedures and guidelines related to equipment operation, material handling, and yard operations.Essential SkillsProven experience in shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse or yard environment.Ability to safely operate industrial forklifts, including large-capacity units up to 12,000 lbs.Experience with warehouse inventory control and inventory management processes.Ability to perform heavy lifting on a regular basis, frequently handling 50 to 75 pounds.Competence in loading and unloading trucks and staging materials for shipment.Basic computer skills and the ability to work with supply chain management systems to track product movement.Experience using pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.Ability to work outdoors in very hot or cold temperatures and in varying weather conditions.Strong attention to safety and adherence to established safety procedures.Ability to identify and differentiate various construction or decking products after training.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge in general production or construction environments.Experience with inventory control processes and order pulling.Familiarity with supply chain management systems and warehouse software.Comfort operating different types of material handling machines in an industrial setting.Ability to maintain an organized and efficient work area in a non-climate-controlled facility.Why Work Here?This organization offers significant room for advancement and actively promotes from within, allowing employees to build long-term careers.
