As a Truck/Heavy Equipment Mechanic at R-2 Contractors, you will play a crucial role in the upkeep and performance of our on-road fleet. This position involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel trucks and DOT vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operations.ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, service, and repair diesel trucks and DOT vehiclesConduct preventative maintenance and DOT inspectionsDocument all repairs and maintenance using proper work order systemsOperate shop tools and equipment safely and efficientlyMaintain a clean and organized workspaceCommunicate effectively with supervisors and other team membersRequirements6+ years of diesel truck heavy equipment mechanic experience requiredStrong knowledge of DOT regulations and complianceAbility to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physical laborMust have own tools; specialty tools provided by companyCDL Class A or B preferred, or willingness to obtain oneExcellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skillsUnion Wages & Benefits:Union WagesUnion RetirementPaid Time Off (PTO) / Sick LeaveMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance5-Year Employment Appreciation BonusR2 Contractors is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
