Main responsibilities:

  • Assist the Grocery Manager in directing operations of the Grocery Department (including Frozen, Dairy & Liquor/Beer).
  • Supervise and train department personnel.
  • Perform ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, and merchandising duties.
  • Implement company merchandising policies and ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and security standards.
  • Handle customer relations and resolve complaints effectively.
  • Control shrink and prevent sale of out-of-code products.
  • Open and close the store; act as Person in Charge in absence of Store Director and Grocery Manager.
  • Prepare "to-do" lists for night stockers and manage price changes.
  • Ensure proper accounting of sales and cash register details.
  • Implement emergency procedures for equipment or software malfunctions.

Abilities:

  • Supervise and develop employees.
  • Operate cash registers, scanning equipment, and ordering systems.
  • Implement emergency procedures.
  • Lift and maneuver objects up to 80 lbs; operate carts and pallet jacks.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
