Senior Accountant (Contract)

Meridian, ID | 100% Onsite | 12–16 Week Contract
$40–45/hour DOE

CV Resources is partnering with a well-established organization in the Treasure Valley to identify a Senior Accountant for an immediate contract opportunity. This role is expected to last approximately 12–16 weeks, with the potential for extension.

We're looking for a hands-on accounting professional who can quickly step into a fast-paced environment, work independently, and support day-to-day accounting operations with minimal ramp-up time.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and P&L reports

• Record journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy

• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

• Assist with month-end close activities

• Prepare and support fuel tax reporting

• Analyze large data sets and identify trends or inconsistencies

• Support ongoing accounting process improvements and system initiatives

• Partner with the Controller and accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

• Strong general ledger, journal entry, and reconciliation experience

• Experience preparing financial statements and supporting month-end close

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs

• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple deadlines

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in distribution, transportation, logistics, retail, manufacturing, or other high-volume transactional environments

• ERP experience (any major ERP system)

• Experience working with large data sets and financial reporting tools
