Your ImpactAs a Water Engineer with Jacobs, you will work alongside Project Management and Design Leads in the planning, designing, and commissioning of projects from planning and/or design through construction or finalization. Working within a multi‑disciplinary team you will be challenged to grow and learn in your everyday tasks, which, depending on your focus/specialty, could consist of:Hydraulic modelingWater and wastewater conveyance and treatment projectsWater treatment, collection and distribution projectsGroundwater investigations, drilling, and well installationAssisting in the preparation of plans and specificationsPerforming research, technical writing, development of documentation and studiesData collection, processing, and analysis to support planning and design activitiesSupporting construction activities related to your designs to ensure proper constructionProviding on-site troubleshooting based on field conditions to including construction observation, startup and testing, and project closeout activitiesWhat You'll NeedBachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited University program.Interest in and understanding of water related projects.Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate your ideas clearly and concisely.Self‑motivated, self‑teaching, initiator.Engineer In Training (EIT) Certification, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.Ideally, You'll Also HaveExperience with various software programs, which may include Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD (Civil 3D) or MicroStationExperience with various water‑related software programsDesire to obtain your Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure within the next 5 yearsOur health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
