Site Services Lead

Description:

Guerdon is the premier manufacturer of wood-framed, multi-family, industrial workforce housing, and light commercial modular buildings. Proudly made in the USA at our facility in Boise, Idaho, we serve clients across the Western United States and Canada, primarily in the hospitality and housing industries. With a strong focus on multi-family and multi-story apartments and hotels, our projects are custom-built to meet local codes, client specifications, and architectural design requirements.

The individual in this role will travel to commercial job sites to perform and supervise various repairs, finishing, and warranty work. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in drywall, painting, flooring, casework and millwork installation, door and window adjustments, and minor electrical and plumbing repairs. This role requires extensive travel and extended stays at project sites, often working on multiple projects throughout the year. When travel is not required, employees will be provided with in-factory work.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist a team of Site Services Technicians in performing punch list and warranty work on completed construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company and job site safety policies and relevant regulations
  • Assist with inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Assist in budgeting, inventory control, and procurement of tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Repair and finish drywall, including patching, taping, and texturing, paint touch-ups and full repaint work as needed.
  • Install, repair, or adjust flooring materials (laminate, tile, etc.)
  • Adjust cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware for proper function and alignment.
  • Make window and door adjustments, including handles, locks, and hinges.
  • Complete minor plumbing tasks (e.g., fixing leaks, installing faucets).
  • Complete minor electrical tasks (e.g., replacing light fixtures, outlets, switches).
  • Always maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, supervisors, vendors, and clients.
  • Accurately document completed work and materials used.
  • Manage resources, track progress, and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Travel daily to various job sites as required
  • Ensure the oversight of minor repairs and adjustments, including:
  • Drywall repair, finishing, texturing, and painting
  • Flooring installation and repair (laminate, tile, etc.)
  • Cabinet, door, window, and hardware adjustments
  • Minor plumbing and electrical work

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Three (3) years of experience in residential or commercial construction or service repair work.
  • At least 1 year in a leadership role coaching and mentoring others.
  • Broad knowledge of basic construction trades and finishing work.
  • Experience with reading and understanding blueprints and technical documents (preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must have own hand tools; company vehicle and larger tools provided.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Professional demeanor and strong customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including navigating construction sites.
  • Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment for up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding as needed to inspect work sites.
  • Capable of working in various environmental conditions, including exposure to outdoor weather, dust, and noise typical of construction sites.
  • Ability to use hands to operate office equipment and construction-related tools.
  • Visual acuity to read blueprints, technical documents, and computer screens.
  • Hearing ability to communicate effectively in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to work in shared space.
