As a Traffic Engineer - EIT or PE, you will be responsible for a variety of projects, taking ownership from start to finish.Responsibilities, Expectations, and Duties: Perform the planning, traffic design, and traffic analysis of freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways under the direction of a Project Manager and/or Senior Traffic EngineerPrepare and contribute to transportation studies, technical memoranda, reports, plans, specifications, and engineer's cost estimates for a variety of transportation projectsProduce project deliverables including technical memoranda, design plans and specifications, and technical reportsDesign traffic signals, illumination, signing and pavement marking improvements for urban streets, rural highways and interstatesDevelop maintenance of traffic and traffic control plansApply MUTCD, DOT, and local agency standards to develop accurate, constructible, and compliant traffic designsCoordinate traffic design elements with roadway, drainage, utilities, structures, and right-of-way disciplines to support integrated project deliverySupport the Project Manager in maintaining project scope, budget, schedule, and quality objectivesTake responsibility for assigned design tasks and work packages, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standardsParticipate in internal quality control reviews and incorporate QA/QC comments into final deliverablesProvide technical input and mentoring support to junior engineers and designers as appropriateIdentify design challenges early and communicate potential impacts to the Project Manager and/or Senior Roadway EngineerMaintain organized project files and documentation in accordance with company standardsInterface effectively with coworkers across disciplines to promote collaboration and project successDemonstrate professionalism in communications with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholdersQualifications, Skills, and Competencies: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil EngineeringInterest in both Traffic Analysis and Traffic DesignEIT (passing FE exam required) or a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of IdahoMinimum of three (3) years of experience in transportation engineering with ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Idaho within one year of hireExperience working with any of the following: ITD, LHTAC, ACHD, City of Caldwell, the City of Nampa and other Local Agencies within the Treasure ValleyProven experience collaborating on multidisciplinary project teamsProficiency using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads civil design softwareWorking knowledge of ITD and/or ISPWC standards and plan development proceduresITS design experience is a plusSolid written and oral communication skillsSelf-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detailProficiency with MS Office applicationsDemonstrated desire for continued personal and professional growth through project-based experienceBenefits At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
