Our client, a growing power engineering and infrastructure firm, is seeking a Physical Substation Engineer to support the preliminary design of electrical systems and components for substation facilities. This role works within a multi-disciplinary team to develop efficient, reliable, and constructible designs aligned with project scope and requirements, while also providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers. This remote full-time position is open to candidates in Montana, Idaho, Arizona, Oregon and Washington.ResponsibilitiesDeliver accurate designs of high-voltage electrical substation components in accordance with industry standards, applicable codes, and project requirements.Design substation systems and components including general arrangements, equipment and electrical layouts, grounding, and bills of materials.Prepare preliminary construction drawing packages for bid purposes and review incoming proposals for alignment with design intent and constructability.Perform quality reviews of electrical engineering work completed by peers and subcontractors on assigned projects.Serve as a lead engineer and, when applicable, act as Engineer of Record for assigned projects.Support the development of project proposals, bid preparation, and project schedules for substation projects.Assist project teams during construction by addressing electrical substation-related questions and issues.Travel to project sites and field locations as needed.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.Experience with ETAP, WinIGS, and applicable IEEE standards, including IEEE 80 and 998.Familiarity with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Bentley MicroStation, and/or BentleySubstation software for development of 2D drawings or 3D models.Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required.Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.Work sponsorship is not available at this time.
