Must be a US Resident and Citizen.Job DetailsJob Title: Medical Records Technician (MRT)Location: RemotePosition Type: ContractJob SummaryMedical Records Technicians (MRTs) are responsible for the retrieval, review, indexing, and secure handling of medical records across various provider facilities and specialty groups.In this fully remote role , MRTs support the medical records retrieval process by ensuring documentation is accurately processed, securely uploaded, and compliant with quality and HIPAA standards . MRTs must maintain the integrity of patient files and ensure all retrieved documentation meets established organizational quality requirements.Requirements• Call center background• Data Entry Skills• Intermediate knowledge of Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel• Must have a clean background check• Must be a US resident and citizen (already stated above)Key ResponsibilitiesExecute a minimum of 60 daily outbound/inbound phone calls with the goal of scheduling records for retrievalRetrieve medical record images from provider facilities efficiently and professionallyManage documentation requests and scheduling of document exchangeFollow-up on outstanding document requests that are past dueDocument all communications in systemTypes and transmits correspondence as necessaryProcess records and documentation according to Company standardsProvide EOD update and report to supervisor after completing an onsite retrieval appointmentMinimize interruption to provider office while observing HIPAA standards and regulationsRequired Knowledge & QualificationsAble to navigate Windows-based screening system effectivelyBasic knowledge of Microsoft Office productsUnderstand customer service processing requirementsPlace and receive calls via computer interfaceTrack/monitor/retrieve information on callsUnderstands the management of call queues and has some experience in itFamiliar with components of standard Medical Records2+ years of experience working in a professional office environmentRelevant call center experience; healthcare industry is a strong plusPrior experience in medical records, healthcare administration, or related field preferredStrong attention to detail, organization, and data accuracyAbility to work independently in a remote setting and meet productivity expectationsBasic computer proficiency and comfort using electronic record systemsReliable internet connection and secure workspaceEmployment DetailsStart Date: March 2, 2026Training Schedule: 10am ET to 5pm ET for the first 3-4 days, then 9-5:30 ET thereafterSchedules: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Central TimePay Rate: $18 per hourContract: This is a 3-4 month contract to start.
