As a Loan Officer Assistant, you play a critical role in helping borrowers move confidently through the mortgage process. You'll partner closely with a high‑producing Loan Officer and a wide network of partners to keep loan files organized, compliant, and moving forward on time. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys fast‑paced work, building relationships, and being a key contributor to successful loan closings.ResponsibilitiesFacilitate clear and timely communication between the Loan Officer, borrowers, real estate agents, branch staff, insurance providers, closing agents, and outside vendors.Manage loan pipelines, schedules, and critical deadlines to keep files progressing smoothly.Run pipeline and closed‑loan summary reports to support production tracking and performance.Support mailings and marketing initiatives to help grow and maintain business relationships.Follow up with borrowers to obtain missing documentation and required information.Enter, maintain, and update loan application and client data within processing systems.Pull credit reports at the direction of the Loan Officer and ensure proper handling of sensitive data.Maintain working knowledge of loan programs, guidelines, and technology platforms.Perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties to support daily loan operations.Ensure full compliance with company policies, security standards, and government regulations.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.4 or more years of experience in residential mortgage loan processing and/or underwriting, including conventional and government loans for both purchase and refinance transactions.An equivalent combination of education and experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.Desired SkillsProven track record of supporting consistent loan closings and funding in high‑volume environments.Understanding of mortgage origination processes, underwriting standards, and FNMA, FHLMC, and government guidelines.Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong customer‑service orientation.Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven settings and juggle multiple priorities with accuracy.Analytical skills for borrower credit, income documentation, and complex loan structures.Comfortable with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and automated underwriting systems.Strong analytical skills and knowledge of federal and state real‑estate lending regulations.TravelUp to 20%Compensation & BenefitsTargeted starting hourly range (based on experience): $20.00–$27.00Incentive potentialComprehensive employee benefits: medical, dental, vision, LTD, STD, and lifePaid vacation time, sick time and 11 company paid holidays401(k) (with up to 4% match)Tuition reimbursementBanner Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
