Payroll Tax Analyst (Contract | Fully Remote - CST, MST, PST Only)

CV Resources is partnering with a large, well-established retail organization to identify a Payroll Tax Analyst for an immediate, high-impact contract engagement. This is a fully remote opportunity supporting a complex, high-volume payroll environment across the U.S. and Canada.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into payroll tax issues, cleaning up processes, and driving compliance in a fast-moving environment following a recent system implementation.

The Opportunity

You'll step into a large-scale payroll environment (10,000+ employees) that recently transitioned to a new HCM platform. There is a significant backlog of payroll tax issues, and the team is looking for a strong analyst to help stabilize operations, ensure compliance, and improve processes moving forward.

What You'll Be Doing

• Analyze and ensure compliance with multi-state payroll tax regulations across the U.S.
• Support payroll tax compliance for Canadian employees (nice to have)
• Investigate and resolve payroll tax discrepancies, filings, and historical issues
• Partner with internal payroll and HR teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance
• Assist with payroll tax audits and clean-up efforts
• Identify process gaps and implement improvements post-system implementation
• Document processes and recommend best practices

What We're Looking For

• Strong experience in multi-state payroll tax analysis and compliance (required)
• Experience supporting large, complex payroll environments
• Exposure to Canadian payroll is highly preferred
• UKG experience is a plus, but not required
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment

• Compensation: Up to $55/hour
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
• Start Date: ASAP
