Job Title: Tier 3 (L3) Regulatory Reporting (STR/SAR) Specialist

Job Type: Full-time

Job Location: Boise, ID (Onsite)

Role Overview:

The Tier 3 Regulatory Reporting Specialist is responsible for the final stage of the Transaction Monitoring lifecycle: drafting and filing Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) / Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). You will take escalated L2 investigations and translate them into formal, high-quality regulatory filings, ensuring 100% adherence to statutory filing windows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • STR/SAR Drafting: Review L2 investigative narratives and raw transaction data to draft highly detailed, accurate, and compliant Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) / SARs.

  • Statutory Deadline Management: Strictly manage queues to ensure all required filings are completed and submitted well within the statutory 30-day window.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all filings meet the precise standards expected by financial intelligence units (e.g., FinCEN) regarding the "Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How" of the suspicious activity.

  • Typology Tagging: Accurately categorize and tag reports with the correct FinCrime typologies (e.g., cyber-enabled crime, romance scams, transaction laundering).

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify trends in suspicious activity and provide feedback to the analytics teams to tune TM rules and reduce false positives.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 4–7 years of experience in FinCrime compliance, with a minimum of 2+ years exclusively dedicated to drafting and filing SARs/STRs for a financial institution, FinTech, or digital platform.

  • Deep knowledge of regulatory reporting guidelines and FinCEN (or local FIU) expectations for narrative quality.

  • Exceptional written English proficiency; ability to write concisely, objectively, and comprehensively.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to self-manage strict, non-negotiable deadlines.

  • Prior experience in Quality Control (QC) or Quality Assurance (QA) for regulatory reporting is a plus.
