Starting Wage Range: $19.00 - $24.00 / hour to start; Overtime Available
Available Shift: Monday-Friday | 6:00am - 2:30pm (pending on schedules)
JOB SUMMARY
Utilize engineering blueprints to perform fabrication of metal component parts and assemblies by using appropriate fitting, joining, TIG (GTAW) welding, and finishing techniques as required by product specifications, production schedules, and company quality requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read, understand, and follow work orders, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine optimal fabrication methods required to meet part tolerances, fit, and finish.
- Competently fabricate, weld, and finish Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and Mild Steel (as well as other material types) to JST quality standards.
- Use metalworking tools, power hand tools, and welding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Competently use measuring instruments and contribute to JST's quality program by following quality procedures.
- Utilize a Personal Computer and shop floor control software to accurately track job labor and material usage.
- Understand and follow company procedures and act in a safe manner in the company's manufacturing environment.
- Maintain stewardship of equipment and contribute to the maintenance and cleanliness of the shop.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as required to support manufacturing, engineering, quality, and quoting departments.
- Contribute to team effort by achieving results. Work cooperatively with team members, communicate design constraints, and work within the team to achieve solutions.
- Able to work in various positions such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, laying, reaching with hands and arms, grasp, handle and operate hand and tools, as well as w elding equipment.
- Responsible for other duties and tasks as assigned and, in some circumstances, may be completely unrelated to this position and/or this department.
- Able to work up to 10 hours of mandatory overtime as needed based upon schedule requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES - Able to read blueprints, work orders, and project specifications.
- Able to perform basic math skills using a calculator.
- Able to utilize precision equipment such as calipers.
- Able to TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) weld Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and mild steel (as well as other material types).
- Technical degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Able to produce accurate and good quality parts on schedule.
- Able to use power hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Cleans and maintains equipment in good working order.
- Follow company procedures and maintain a safe work area.
- Must pass our TIG Welding Test.
