CXT Inc. - Cad Designer II - Precast Industry

Under the direction of a Design Engineer, as a CAD Designer, you are responsible for 2D & 3D modeling, drafting and detailing of engineered precast concrete products using CAD software. Provide intermediate knowledge on general building construction and precast concrete products, as well as supporting engineering, production and sales by developing submittal packages and manufacturing documentation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Produce precast concrete wet/dry utility design drawings and detailing using Solidworks (preferred).
  2. Have a working understanding of applicable code requirements for underground structures.
  3. Create submittal packages, proposal drawings and production drawing sets.
  4. Produce Bill of Materials from manufacturing instructions and drawings.
  5. Provide quality review of prepared drawings prior to submittal or production release.
  6. Provide technical support to project managers and sales teams for submittal packages, quotes and orders.
  7. Provide continual improvement and product development suggestions as part of a collaborative team.
  8. All other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience & License Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Drafting certification required
  • 2 years' experience in industrial design with an emphasis in civil or structural

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in the use of Solidworks (preferred), AutoCAD 2, Inventor 3D, a plus
  • Intermediate understanding of drafting standards and principles
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel (formulas, hyperlinks, sorting and searching data)
  • Must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of mathematical concepts (calculate volumes, simple load calculations, metric equivalents, drawing scales)
  • Must be detail oriented, well organized and able to work on multiple projects at once
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience interpreting and reading civil and structural plans
  • Ability to walk on concrete floors and uneven surfaces, ability to bend, sit and stand for periods of time
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds periodically
  • Ability to drive and visit project sites as required
