POSITION SUMMARY:
The Electrical Supervisor will lead the planning, supervision, and execution of all phases of installation, maintenance, and inspection of electrical systems within both new and remodeled facilities. You will be responsible for organizing daily activities for your crew, ensuring projects meet schedule and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Production:
- Read blueprints and interpret specifications effectively.
- Assist in the layout of work for your crew and preplan daily activities to maximize productivity.
- Assess quality control of work performed by craft workers and ensure compliance with all documentation requirements.
- Order and coordinate the delivery of necessary materials and equipment.
- Support the jobsite Superintendent in coordinating project activities.
- Travel to various job sites with limited notice as required.
- Implement innovative production methods to enhance best practices.
- Perform related trade work as necessary and other duties as assigned.
- Quality:
- Monitor crew installations for quality assurance.
- Identify and promote improvements in safety, quality, and productivity.
- Safety:
- Adhere to and promote company safety policies and procedures.
- Train crew members in safe work practices.
- Audit safety practices and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
SUPERVISORY:
- Assist with hiring, training, and performance reviews of crew members.
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of craft workers, managing a team of up to six employees.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferably hold an NCCER Certification/License.
- At least 1 year of experience in an electrical foreman role is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Familiarity with MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations.
- Active participation in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
- Demonstrate safe behavior and set an example for others.
- Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Capable of performing basic mathematical calculations for measurements.
- Strong communication skills for executing instructions both written and oral.
- Maintain positive relationships with team members and supervisors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to perform physical work for up to 12 hours, in various environmental conditions.
- Capable of lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work at heights and wear required safety equipment.
HOURS & TRAVEL:
This is a full-time position typically requiring about 50 hours per week, with travel up to 90% for on-site project presence and some intermittent travel to your residence.
