As we shape the future, we're looking for a Workers Compensation Business Analyst to be part of our Regulatory Reporting Workers Compensation Financial Call Team.

This pivotal role involves providing business and data analysis support for several critical applications, focusing on Financial Call components such as Premiums, Losses, Claim Counts, and Loss Adjustment Expenses. The team supplies essential information for state cost analysis to aid in rate or loss cost filings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize functional knowledge and techniques to extract comprehensive data and analytics business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Perform independent data analysis, discovery, and profiling using industry-standard querying tools.
  • Maintain Data mapping documents, Business Matrix, and other Data Design artifacts.
  • Act as a key liaison and consultant between business and IT stakeholders.
  • Support and conduct functional testing.
  • Facilitate collaborative working sessions to achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Address scope-related questions and issues pertaining to your work.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on business data issues and offer technical guidance.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in workers compensation data analysis, preferably within the insurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of Workers Compensation Insurance.
  • Proficient with standard querying tools (Toad, SQL, etc.) and Excel, including macro development.
  • Experience with data warehouse or reporting/analytics projects.
  • Familiarity with Agile project environments.
  • Exceptional facilitation and data analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a timely manner.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in managing stakeholders in a matrix environment.

This position offers a flexible hybrid or remote work arrangement. Candidates located near one of our offices should plan to work on-site three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Those who are not in proximity to an office will primarily work remotely but may need to attend in-person meetings as necessary.

Compensation:

The base pay for this role ranges from $80,000 to $120,000 annually, which is determined by market analysis and may vary based on performance and competencies. This base salary is part of The Hartford's comprehensive compensation package, which includes bonuses and recognition programs.
