Within OCI, our Oracle AI Infra / Gen AI Cloud Engineering team is leading the charge in pioneering solutionsthat merge artificial intelligence with cloud infrastructure. By joining us, you will play a pivotal role in developing large-scale cloud solutions using state-of-the-art machine learning technologies to tackle complex global challenges.

As a key contributor in our Cloud Engineering team, you'll work closely with applied scientists and product managers to design, develop, and deploy customized Gen-AI solutions focusing on Large Language Models (LLMs), Agents, and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) with substantial OpenSearch clusters. You will take on the responsibility of identifying, creating, and implementing innovative AI solutions tailored for our GPU IaaS or PaaS offerings.

Qualifications and Experience

• Doctoral or master's degree in computer science or a related technical field, accompanied by 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Exceptional ability to convey technical concepts both verbally and in writing, including crafting technical proposals, design specifications, architecture diagrams, and presentations.
• Proven expertise in designing and executing scalable AI models and solutions for production, with a strong background as an end-to-end solutions engineer or architect. Collaboration with product management and development teams is essential.
• Hands-on experience with OpenSearch, Vector databases, PostgreSQL, and Kafka Streaming technologies.
• Practical experience in setting up and fine-tuning large OpenSearch clusters and creating effective data ingestion pipelines.
• Familiarity with search algorithms, indexing, and optimizing latency and response times.
• Solid experience with cutting-edge LLM and generative AI technologies, including parameter-efficient fine-tuning methods, instruction fine-tuning, and advanced prompt engineering techniques.
• Knowledge of Agents, Agent frameworks, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Hands-on experience with emerging LLM frameworks and plugins such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, VectorStores, and MLFlow.
• A strong publication record in top-tier journals or conferences, preferably as a lead author or reviewer.
• A passion for mentoring and developing junior machine learning engineers.
• Proficiency in Python and shell scripting tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD or Master's degree in a relevant field with an additional 5+ years of experience in the industry.
• Experience architecting RAG-based solutions, particularly with OpenSearch and Vector stores.
• Deep understanding of LLMs and experience with Generative AI and Agent models.
• Experience with advancements in computer vision and multimodal modeling is advantageous.
• Expertise in semantic search, multi-modal search, and conversational search.
• Comfortable working in a public cloud environment with in-depth knowledge of IaaS/PaaS capabilities and competitive offerings.
• A strong understanding of LLM fine-tuning and related technologies for multi-task serving.
• Extensive knowledge of deep learning architectures, especially Transformers, along with practical experience in frameworks like PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
• Experience diagnosing, fixing, and resolving issues in AI model training and deployment.

Compensation and Benefits

Oracle offers a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, flexible vacation, and more. The salary range for this role is $141,800 to $232,200 annually, dependent on various factors such as location, experience, and internal equity.
