Wastewater Project Manager

Location: Boise, Idaho

Project: Semiconductor Fabrication Facility Construction

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Wastewater Project Manager to lead the planning, design coordination, construction, and commissioning of wastewater systems supporting a semiconductor fabrication (fab) facility in Boise. This role will be responsible for managing all wastewater-related infrastructure associated with a high-purity, high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial wastewater systems, complex construction projects, environmental compliance, and coordination with municipal utilities and regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

• Lead end-to-end wastewater scope for the semiconductor fab construction project, from design through commissioning.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with EPC firms, design consultants, construction contractors, and equipment vendors.
• Ensure integration of wastewater systems with overall facility utilities and process systems.

Technical Oversight

• Oversee design and construction of:
• Industrial wastewater treatment systems
• Ultra-pure water reclaim systems
• Chemical waste neutralization systems
• Pretreatment and discharge systems
• Sludge handling and dewatering systems
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Support system start-up, commissioning, and performance validation.

Regulatory & Environmental Compliance

• Coordinate with regulatory authorities including:
• Idaho Department of Environmental Quality
• City of Boise Public Works
• United States Environmental Protection Agency
• Support permitting activities (industrial discharge permits, stormwater permits, etc.).
• Ensure adherence to environmental reporting requirements.

Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary wastewater subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide regular reporting to project leadership and executive teams.
• Coordinate with facilities operations teams for turnover and long-term operational readiness.

Safety & Quality

• Promote and enforce strict adherence to construction safety standards.
• Ensure wastewater systems meet semiconductor industry reliability and redundancy requirements.
• Conduct quality audits and ensure contractor compliance with specifications.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience managing industrial wastewater or water infrastructure projects.
• Experience with large-scale industrial or semiconductor manufacturing facilities preferred.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Industrial wastewater treatment processes
• Chemical handling systems
• Environmental permitting and compliance
• Construction management practices
• Experience managing projects >$10M in capital value preferred.
• Proficiency in project management software and cost control systems.
