Join Meta as a Connectivity Engineer in our Design Engineering and Construction (DEC) team, where your work will help shape the foundation of our innovative data centers. These facilities are vital in delivering cutting-edge services and operating our expanding infrastructure. As a Connectivity Engineer, you will ensure that DEC telecommunication projects are executed efficiently, adhering to schedule and budget while maintaining high-quality standards. You will serve as the key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle, from kickoff to turnover into operations, collaborating with teams across data centers globally.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Control - Create, maintain, and report on project scope, schedules, and milestones, working closely with the project management team throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Learnings - Regularly assess ongoing projects for efficiency and opportunities for improvement. Document insights to assist with project coordination and help establish best practices in project management.
Forecasting - Assist the project controls team in financial forecasting and budget management, providing clear project status updates to stakeholders.
Technical Reviews - Set key milestones for equipment purchases and engage in the evaluation and selection of contractors for cabling work.
Metrics - Report on project progress and risks to relevant stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
Workflow - Collaborate with installation partners to track project milestones, ensuring effective project handoffs and verification of design delivery.
Vendor Field Management - Oversee all site connectivity activities, developing key relationships with installation partners and ensuring a commitment to best practices and safety.
Quality Assurance - Conduct inspections to verify compliance with quality standards, ensuring that installations meet specifications and local codes.
Technical Field Lead - Take the lead on evaluating products and methods, clarifying project scope and installation details.
Technical Coordination - Develop solutions for any in-field challenges, collaborating with design and engineering teams for seamless project execution.
Communications & Cross-functional Engagement - Maintain open communication with construction partners, ensuring that all deliverables are met and coordinating logistics for material flow.
Safety - Uphold safety standards in line with local regulations, fostering a culture of safety and open communication with vendors.
Travel - This remote position requires a minimum of 50% travel.
