The Division of Licensing and Certification, Bureau of Facility Standards, has a current opening for a full-time Technical Records Specialist 2 located in beautiful downtown Boise. The Bureau is responsible for licensing and certifying health care providers/suppliers following state and federal regulatory requirements and conducting complaint investigations relating to these providers/suppliers. This position will be responsible for providing support to all of the programs within the Bureau.
This position may be eligible for limited telework after successful completion of probation and necessary training. Approval to telecommute is not guaranteed and subject to termination at any time.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: - Applying detailed program knowledge in developing and/or maintaining program records systems.
- Collecting and preparing reports, data entry and information collection.
- Performing as a liaison between management and other organizational units, and customers. This includes a strong and professional phone/video conference presence.
- Performing administrative duties as necessary.
- Providing cross-program support as needed for all Bureau programs.
- Providing support for car and travel reservations.
- Applying a solid understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite as well as other programs as they become necessary. This includes the use of Macros in letter templates and the ability to create survey kits.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. - Experience monitoring record systems to identify and correct errors. Typically gained by at least one year of related experience.
- Experience interpreting, explaining, and applying laws, regulations, and complex policies for multiple or highly specialized programs. Typically gained by at least one year of experience which frequently required interpreting and applying a variety of difficult rules, regulations, or policies to determine compliance or eligibility and explaining decisions to others. Decisions are complex and can affect the social or economic well being of others or will result in a service or action being denied.
- Experience analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues. Typically gained by at least one year of extensive research and analysis of highly complex or technical material requiring in-depth program knowledge in order to determine if requirements were met and if they complied with established laws and/or policies. Research must have included contacting a variety of sources both inside and outside the organization to collect, obtain, and verify information and determine the appropriate course of action.
- Experience dealing with individuals from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in stressful situations. Typically gained by at least one year experience dealing with individuals from varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in stressful situations which dealt with personal, sensitive, or confidential information such as eligibility requirements, health issues, or financial matters.
- Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system. Typically gained by at least six months of experience in a work setting where it was required to enter and retrieve data in a database records system or other computer records system.
- Experience composing and proofreading business correspondence. Typically gained by at least one year of office experience which required composing and proofreading a variety of business documents on a regular basis OR successful completion of at least one college-level English composition or business English class AND six months of experience composing business documents.
Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants. - Experience with Microsoft Excel (complex data analysis). Typically gained by one year of experience using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel to create and modify electronic worksheets and design and print graphs. Includes complex data analysis using tools such as Pivot tables.
- Experience auditing electronic records. Typically gained by at least three years of experience auditing electronic records working with databases or filing systems.
