The Division of Veterans Services (IDVS) has an opening for a part-time Office Specialist 2, with state benefits, located at the Central Support Office in Boise. This position is 25 hours per week, 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday and is a year-round position.
We are seeking an individual with strong customer service skills and the ability to work in a multi-faceted reception environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate interpersonal skills, be detailed oriented, and have a compassionate and empathetic demeanor. The candidate will have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic office software with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
· Customer service at the reception desk, including greeting customers, answering questions, answering phone calls, assisting callers with general questions while maintaining a calm demeanor.
· Perform a variety of complex office support tasks related to Veteran services using well established guidelines and the ability to work well in a stressful environment.
· Responsible for handling confidential documents related to agency operations and HIPAA.
· Maintain agency forms for distribution and use.
· Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and issues in a timely manner.
· Provide administrative support for staff, as well as provide coverage of office functions for other staff.
· Process requests for services
· Process mail
· Receive payments and process deposits
· Maintain program records and systems, maintain sensitive records, operating multiple systems, filing, and data entry.

· Using alphabetical, numerical, or subject filing systems to include determining file names, setting up new files, classifying, labeling, filing, and retrieving
· Reviewing documents for compliance with established procedures
· Using a computer to enter and retrieve information
· Answering a business telephone using knowledge of business telephone procedures and etiquette.
