The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections is hiring for a Custodian at our JCC-Nampa Facility.

The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections has regionalized state services for juveniles committed to its custody, making it possible for most juveniles to remain close enough to their communities so parents and other key community members can take part in the juvenile's treatment. State juvenile correctional centers are located in Lewiston, Nampa, and St. Anthony and provide a full complement of services for youth who range from 10 to 20 years of age.

Responsibilities:

· Heavy-duty cleaning of facility offices and rooms, restrooms, classrooms, juvenile living and intake areas, medical offices, gym, kitchen, and IT & administrative areas.

· Assists in the instruction for staff in proper cleaning procedures.

· Maintains supplies in custodial closets and stocks paper products as well as cleaning supplies throughout the facility. Also helps in maintaining up-to-date MSDS information of products used in the facility.

· Assists in the supervision and tasks of setting up for special events, moving of furniture, appliances, and setting up of audio/visual equipment.

· Assist in supervision of contracted vendors when work is being completed in facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

Willingness to: perform duties associated with commercial cleaning, including operating industrial-type cleaning equipment such as high-speed buffers and vacuum cleaners; cleaning restrooms, bath facilities, locker rooms, swimming pools, and similar facilities; moving heavy items such as tables, chairs, and bleachers; and repairing the equipment and related devices you operate.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience operating industrial-type high-speed cleaning equipment; performing minor maintenance on custodial equipment; using hand tools to repair cleaning equipment; explaining the use and maintenance of custodial equipment.

· Knowledge of the methods, materials, cleaning agents, and equipment used in heavy-duty custodial work including related safety practices and possible reactions of the products used; sanitation and infection control.
