We are seeking a motivated and reliable Phlebotomist to join our team at a very busy two-person clinic located in Boise near St. Alphonsus. This clinic serves a wide variety of patients and offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, including point-of-care testing (POCT) and resulting directly into the system. As a teaching facility, this role requires strong communication skills and a willingness to answer questions and support learning.

We're looking for a positive, patient, and adaptable team player who thrives in a high-volume setting and enjoys helping others. Ideal candidates are well-organized, manage their time effectively, and communicate clearly with patients and coworkers. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 9:00am-6:00pm, with a rotating half-day Saturday.

Pay: Starting at $19/hour, with rate negotiable based on experience

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Patient care & customer service: Providing a positive experience for a diverse patient population in a high-volume clinic
• Technical responsibilities: Performing venipuncture, pediatric and adult draws, POCT, and preparing specimens for testing
• POCT & resulting: Performing point-of-care testing and accurately resulting tests into the system
• Teaching & communication: Answering questions, supporting learners, and communicating clearly in a teaching-clinic environment
• Administrative duties: Answering phones, data entry, and general clinic support
• Specimen handling: Receiving, processing, and packaging specimens while maintaining integrity
• Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols, HIPAA, Medicare regulations, and quality assurance standards
• Teamwork: Working closely with clinic staff to ensure smooth daily operations

Education & Certification:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

Required:

• Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Comfortable with data entry and basic computer systems

Preferred:

• POCT experience
• Pediatric phlebotomy experience
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Physical Requirements:

• Laboratory setting with automated equipment emitting ambient sounds.
• High level of staff interaction in close quarters; must hear alarms to ensure timely response to safety needs.
• Regular handling of potentially infectious samples, with required protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, face shield).
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day.
• Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Flexibility to work extended hours or overtime as needed.

OSHA Category: This role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues, with Hepatitis-B vaccination offered to all performing these duties.
