Description:

Supports physicians and coordinators through the Peer Review process by managing communication, meetings, documentation, and case close-outs. Prepares charts, tracks OPPE/FPPE, analyzes cases for outside review, and maintains required OPPE/FPPE records. Collaborates with Peer Review, Risk Management, Medical Staff Office, and Performance Improvement to coordinate reviews and schedule ongoing meetings.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Two years' experience working with physicians and other clinical staff; preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology, preferred

  • Intermediate computer skills with an emphasis on MS Word, Access and Excel. Able to utilize the technology of the Internet.

  • Experience with visual display of data and control charts.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Keen attention to detail and ability to complete activities on time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Meets Health System's Guiding Behaviors and Caring Standards including interpersonal communication and professional conduct expectations.

  • Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls.

  • Uses independent judgment to determine priority and sensitivity of inquiries and responses.

  • Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of correspondence, forms, reports and other written communications as required.

  • Provides team members with all required documentations for medical department meetings (e.g. locations of required charts, current status reports, history of reviews).

  • Maintains assigned calendar(s).

  • Prepare meeting agendas and take meeting minutes.

  • Originates, prepares, processes and edits reports and documents.

  • Demonstrates compliance with hospital safety policies and procedures.

  • Assists with special projects and interdepartmental needs when appropriate.
