Planning Supervisor

Ada County Highway District is now accepting applications for a Planning Supervisor in the Planning
Department. This is a full-time, exempt position with a starting salary range of $95,472 - $116,480 per year,
DOQ.

Primary Duties:

  • The Planning Supervisor is responsible for supervising the activities of the Sr. Transportation
    Planners, Transportation Planners, and Student Intern positions. The work involves coordinating all
    project identification and development plans, Five Year Plan (FYP), scoping and annual metric
    reporting.
  • The Planning Supervisor will act as a liaison to one of ACHD's city partners and/or urban renewal
    agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Must have proven ability to facilitate constructive dialogue related to complex policy and planning
    issues. Must have knowledge of: Planning methodologies, specifically long and short range
    transportation planning; Federal, state and local government structures and federal aid
    programming; Roadway projects including technical aspects, planning, budgeting, construction
    and scheduling; Engineering principles and practices; Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA),
    Technical writing methods;; Land use planning, and presentation skills.
  • Proven history in motivating others, collaborative decision-making processes, and evaluating others
    work. Must have a documented history in a variety of leadership roles and responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ArcPro is a must. Knowledge of Microsoft Projects and
    Adobe InDesign products is a plus.
  • Must be able to work some nights as required by liaison duties and public information meetings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Public Administration or a related
    field is preferred. Experience in a progressively responsible capacity in public administration,
    preferably in an independent agency comparable to the District and AICP is preferred OR an
    equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and
    abilities may be acceptable.
