Your day at Lowe's will be dynamic, as you engage with customers throughout the store or garden center, answer inquiries, and assist with their home improvement projects.
Becoming the expert in product specifications, features, promotions, and financing will enhance your ability to close sales, ensuring customer satisfaction before they leave.
You will find your place in one of the following departments based on hiring needs and your skills: Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls.
Key Responsibilities
Provide outstanding customer service by proactively engaging with customers to identify their needs, answering questions, and highlighting the benefits of Lowe's products and services.
Act as the main point of contact for customers and suppliers in your department, providing estimates, scheduling installer visits, processing orders/installations, and following up to ensure project completion.
If in the Pro Department, focus on external accounts, boosting sales and services.
Manage inventory levels to support sales, collaborating with vendors and other locations to source merchandise and reorder stock as needed.
Conduct price reviews in line with policies and maintain accurate pricing and documentation.
Assist with all checkout functions and respond to calls, departmental pages, or requests for assistance.
Guide and train new associates through hands-on instruction on the sales floor, coaching them to foster their development.
Complete other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
1 year of experience in customer-facing sales or 6 months of Lowe's retail experience (or 3 years of relevant external sales experience or 18 months Lowe's retail experience if education requirement is unmet).
1 year of experience in sales or customer service within a sales environment meeting sales goals or metrics.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
Capability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
Able to lift 25 lbs unassisted or more with assistance or accommodation.
Obtain required sales-related licensure or registration as applicable; Lowe's will support this process.
Preferred Qualifications
1 year of experience in processing customer sales orders.
1 year of experience in promoting product-related services and plans such as installation, delivery, credit financing, or extended protection plans.
2 years of experience in designing customized products using tools like 20/20 or Computer-Aided Design Systems.
Possession of professional certification relevant to the department.
Bilingual skills are an advantage.

Travel Requirements
This role typically does not require regular travel, but occasional travel may be necessary for meetings, training, or supporting nearby stores.
Working Conditions
You may work in both indoor and outdoor environments, facing various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and wet or windy conditions. Noise levels may vary, and you might encounter moving equipment.
Associates are expected to adhere to weight-lifting guidelines, with single lifts limited to 75 pounds. Team lifts are recommended for weights exceeding 75 pounds or in other necessary situations, using powered equipment as trained.
