What You Contribute to Cardinal Health as an Accounts Receivable Specialist
As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our financial operations. Your responsibilities will include verifying patient insurance and benefits, preparing and submitting claims, and managing our accounts receivable process. You will also assist patients with payment plans while ensuring adherence to regulations like HIPAA.
Demonstrated knowledge of financial processes, systems, and internal controls.
Experience working collaboratively in a finance environment.
Understanding of service level goals in providing excellent customer support.
Ability to handle non-standard requests with professionalism and expertise.
Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage tasks effectively.
Your Responsibilities
Submit medical documentation and billing data to insurance providers.
Research and appeal denied or rejected claims effectively.
Prepare, review, and transmit claims utilizing billing software for both electronic and paper submissions.
Follow up on unpaid claims within the designated billing cycle timeframe.
Communicate with insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies.
Review insurance payments for accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in a business-related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Medical Billing or Revenue Cycle Management preferred.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Aptitude for multi-tasking and meeting tight deadlines.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
Familiarity with ICD-10 coding is beneficial.
Competence in using computer systems, software applications, and 10-key calculators.
Solid understanding of medical terminology.
