Superintendent Location: Bay Area, California
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Project Executive / Director of Construction
The Superintendent is responsible for the overall field execution of large, complex construction projects from mobilization through closeout. This role provides leadership to on-site teams, ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards, and serves as the primary point of coordination between subcontractors, project management, and ownership. The Senior Superintendent is expected to mentor junior superintendents and uphold company standards across multiple project phases.
Project Leadership & Execution
Lead all on-site construction activities for large-scale, complex projects
Develop and manage detailed project schedules and site logistics plans
Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors, inspectors, and project management
Anticipate constructability challenges and proactively resolve field issues
Lead site safety meetings and ensure compliance with site-specific safety plans
Quality Control
Ensure work is installed per contract documents, codes, and company quality standards
Lead, mentor, and develop Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and field staff
Foster a collaborative, respectful, and high-performance jobsite culture
Hold subcontractors accountable to contract requirements and performance standards
Serve as the primary on-site contact for owners, architects, and inspectors
Participate in owner and subcontractor meetings as needed
Provide clear, timely reporting on schedule, safety, and field progress
10+ years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects
~ Proven experience leading large, complex projects from start to finish
~ Thorough understanding of California building codes and regulations
~ Experience with Bay Area projects and local jurisdictions
Proficiency with construction technology platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.)
Experience mentoring and developing field leadership teams
