SUMMARY: This position is assigned to the Base Civil Engineering (BCE) Shop, 124 Civil Engineer Squadron (CES), Idaho Air National Guard (IDANG), functioning within the State of Idaho – Military Division. The primary purpose of this position is to provide services involving installation, recurring maintenance, evaluation, modification, monitoring, and repair on Energy Monitoring and Control Systems (EMCS), Desigo DDC network, fire alarm systems, and other computer interfaced equipment and control systems.

MILITARY DIVISION MANDATORY QUESTIONS:

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

(1) Must have and maintain a valid and unrestricted state issued driver's license (from any state). Provide your driver's license number, issuing state, license expiration date, and the full name specified on the license. (Do not provide a copy of your driver's license.)

(2) Must have, or be eligible to obtain, and maintain a favorable NACI/T1 Federal Background Investigation. If a selected candidate does not have a current favorable NACI/T1, as a condition of employment he/she must submit to the investigation process immediately upon hire/appointment.

(3) Must be able to complete the required training to be fully functional in the position as directed by the supervisor. CPR and IAED Emergency Medical Dispatch certifications to be completed by the end of the training process. Idaho Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) Emergency Communications Officer (ECO) Basic Academy certification to be completed within 18 months of start date. FEMA IS-100.C, IS-200.C, IS-700.B, and IS-5.A prior to the start of Idaho POST ECO Basic Academy.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Must have 24-months of experience performing work related to the knowledge requirements below. Submit a paragraph for each knowledge requirement that demonstrates the required experience and describes competence in applying the knowledge. Education and training may be used to offset experience.

(1) Describe your knowledge of the proper technical and safety practices relating to HVAC/R equipment, fire alarm systems, and electrical systems.

(2) Describe your knowledge of ASHRAE, EPA regulations, NFPA, and NEC.

(3) Describe your skill and ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawings. Organize and develop documentation (specifications, schematics, and procedures).

(4) Describe your ability to safely use hand and power tools and computer interface equipment associated with controls.

(5) Describe your skill and ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems such as large air conditioning and refrigeration units, compressors, pumps, electrical motors, variable speed drives and diagnose complete system problems.

(6) Describe your ability to program application specific controllers and ancillary devices. Setting up and programming system supervisory controllers and front-end equipment, including, but not limited to, block code and graphics.

(7) Describe your ability to be effective and efficient in organizing, planning and scheduling projects. Ability to write reports, use trend data to determine problems or energy management issues and communicate with personnel in the engineering field.

(8) Describe your ability and skill to proficiently estimate labor-hours and materials accurately for various jobs using acceptable estimating standards.

(9) Describe your ability to operate computers using Windows based programs, EMCS programs, and specialized programs interfacing with equipment. Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.

(10) Describe your working knowledge of function, operation and servicing procedures for various HVAC equipment, including data centers, chillers, boilers, VRF systems and air handling equipment.
