A Safe School Assistant job involves monitoring student behavior and campus security, enforcing rules, intervening in conflicts, and supporting administration to maintain a safe, orderly learning environment, with duties including patrols, conflict resolution, reporting incidents, and helping with daily student supervision (hallways, cafeteria, playground). They act as a deterrent, promote positive behavior, and work with staff, parents, and law enforcement to address safety concerns, often requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Campus Monitoring & Security: Patrolling grounds, monitoring hallways, lunch areas, restrooms, and parking lots; ensuring only authorized visitors are on campus; checking for unsecured doors.
• Student Supervision: Supervising students during passing periods, lunch, and activities; ensuring students stay in supervised areas.
• Behavior Management: Enforcing school rules, intervening in fights or inappropriate behavior, facilitating conflict resolution, and preparing student referrals.
• Incident Reporting: Investigating and reporting vandalism, suspicious activity, student conflicts, and other safety issues; writing incident reports.
• Emergency Response: Working with administration to respond to emergencies and high-risk situations.
• Staff and Parent Communication: Collaborating with teachers, counselors, and administration on student issues.
• Supporting Duties: Assisting with student transportation, supporting teachers in classrooms, and attending staff meetings.

• Education: High School Diploma or better
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to remain calm and act professionally in stressful situations.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and patrol tactics (for some roles).
• Experience in education, security, or related fields is often preferred.
