Employment Defense Attorney (Remote California)

Location: Fully Remote (Must be based in California and within reasonable distance to Pasadena LA or Orange County preferred)

Experience Level: Senior-Level (1015 years preferred; up to 20 years considered)

Our client is a respected California-based employment defense firm known for handling complex, high-stakes matters for sophisticated employers.

The firm is seeking an experienced Employment Defense Attorney to join its team on a fully remote basis across California. This role is ideal for a seasoned attorney who values long-term professional growth, meaningful client relationships, and autonomy in managing sophisticated employment litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Defend employers in a wide range of employment matters, including:
• Wrongful termination
• Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims
• Wage & hour disputes
• Class actions and PAGA matters (where applicable)
• Manage cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, and settlement negotiations
• Provide strategic counsel to employer clients
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda with minimal oversight
• Handle client communications and case strategy independently
• Participate in business development and client origination (optional but encouraged)

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of employment defense experience (up to 20 years max considered)
• Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar
• Strong litigation background in employment law defense
• Experience handling Class Action and/or PAGA matters strongly preferred (required for top-of-range compensation)
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Stable employment history strongly preferred
• Ideal candidates will have 23 firms over the past 1015 years
• One short-term role that did not work out is acceptable
• Excellent writing, analytical, and client-facing skills

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between [$250,000 $300,000 annually]. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
