Niemann Harvest Market Meat Journeyman Cutter

The Niemann Harvest Market Meat Journeyman Cutter is responsible for assisting customers, preparing and cutting meat, maintains quality in the fresh meat case, helps with department cleanliness and assist in receiving of product while working in a safe manner. The Meat Journeyman Cutter will assist the Meat General Manager in creating a positive store atmosphere for customers and a positive working environment for Associates while fostering the Niemann Harvest Market culture.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Delivers superior guest service and ensure absolute customer satisfaction
  2. Learns and uses the three E's: Engagement, Educate, Empowerment
  3. Assists customers with request and information
  4. Takes care of special requests in a fast, friendly manner
  5. Reads cutting lists
  6. Cuts all primals to specific techniques
  7. Grinds meats
  8. Maintains meat cases
  9. Fills cases/stock meat
  10. Rotates product properly
  11. Assists Butcher Shop Manager with inventory
  12. Receives and processes meat shipment correctly
  13. Operates wrapping scale & other machinery in Meat Department
  14. Cleans and sanitizes equipment, cases work area and sales floor
  15. Follow all Health Code guidelines
  16. Follows all store and department policies and procedures
  17. Follow safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model
  18. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education And/or Experience

  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

  • Basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication), weights

  • Food Handler's Certification as required by State Law provided at store level
