A Brief Overview

As a Technician Trainee, you will be trained to become a skilled auto glass technician. After successfully completing our comprehensive training program, you will earn the Safelite SafeTech certification and gain essential skills needed for independent glass repair, replacement, and recalibrations. To excel in this role, you should embrace the Safelite Spirit, bringing a positive attitude, care for customers, and dedication to delivering quality work efficiently.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Get paid while you learn the Safelite way through hands-on and classroom training, including:
  2. Observing and assisting with auto glass installation and repairs
  3. Recalibrating automotive safety systems and conducting diagnostic tests
  4. Offering additional services and products to enhance customer safety
  5. Studying and passing tests to become a certified Safelite Technician, demonstrating installation proficiency and a positive approach
  6. Safely operating company and customer vehicles, along with the necessary tools and materials
  7. Performing other assigned duties as needed
  8. Adhering to all company policies and standards

Educational Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent preferred.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license and any additional licenses required by federal, state, and local laws to operate company vehicles are required.

Experience Qualifications

  • You must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in confined spaces while bending and twisting.
  • Proficiency in safely and effectively using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle while complying with all applicable laws and agreeing to monitoring via in-cab safety cameras.
  • Maintain professionalism and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
  • Competency in working with chemicals safely, as necessary for the role.
  • Flexible to work scheduled hours and adjust start and end times as required by customer needs.
  • Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting.
  • Problem-solving abilities to tackle issues independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English, including technical instructions.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Professional appearance while adhering to company dress code and safety policies.
  • Capability to maintain strong performance under pressure, including time constraints and productivity expectations.
