Overview

As an Auto Technician Apprentice, you will receive comprehensive training to become a skilled auto glass technician. After completing our program, you will earn the Safelite SafeTech certification and gain the essential skills to perform glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations independently. Your Responsibilities

• Engage in paid training with a blend of hands-on and classroom learning, including:
• Observing and assisting in auto glass installation and repair.
• Recalibrating automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
• Offering additional services and products for customer safety.
• Studying and passing assessments to become a Safelite-certified Technician.
• Operating company and customer vehicles safely, using provided tools and chemicals responsibly.
• Completing other assigned duties as necessary.
• Adhering to all company policies and standards.

• Competitive weekly pay starting at $20.25/hour, increasing to $24/hour following training and certification.
• Incentives such as earning $5 for each set of wiper blades installed for customer safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• A valid state-issued driver's license (and any other required licenses) for operating a company vehicle is required.
• You must be at least 18 years old.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfort in standing for long periods and working in tight spaces.
• Proficient in using various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to drive according to all federal, state, and local laws while being monitored via in-cab safety technologies.
• Commitment to professionalism and outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Comfortable working with chemicals as per industry standards.
• Flexibility in work scheduling to meet customer needs.
• Proficiency in using computerized tools for diagnostics and trouble-shooting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Effective communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Commitment to maintaining a professional appearance and adhering to company policies.
• Ability to manage stress and maintain performance under pressure.
