Position Overview

As an Auto Glass Technician Apprentice, you will undergo comprehensive training to become a skilled auto glass technician. Upon successful completion of our training program, you will earn the Safelite SafeTech certification, equipping you with essential skills for performing glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations independently. Responsibilities

• Receive paid training to learn the Safelite approach through hands-on experiences and classroom instruction.
• Assist in the installation and repair of auto glass while observing experienced technicians.
• Learn to recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshoot issues, and conduct diagnostic tests.
• Study and succeed in assessments to become a certified Safelite Technician, showcasing your installation proficiency and positive demeanor.
• Safely operate company vehicles and utilize company-issued tools and chemicals throughout your workday.
• Perform additional duties as directed and adhere to all company policies and standards.

What We Offer

• Starting pay of $20.25/hour, increasing to $24/hour after training and certification.
• Earn $5 per set of wiper blades added for customer safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must have a valid state-issued driver's license and any other required licenses to operate company vehicles.
• Minimum age of 18 years required.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 35 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Capability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, and perform bending and twisting movements.
• Proficiency in safely using various hand and power tools.
• Ability to drive a motor vehicle legally in compliance with all laws and regulations.
• Demonstrated commitment to professionalism and exceptional customer service.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Capability to handle chemicals safely as per the Safelite standards.
• Flexibility in work schedule to meet customer needs.
• Familiarity with using computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting issues.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and interpreting the English language, along with effective communication skills.
• Maintaining a professional appearance in accordance with company dress code and PPE policies.
• Ability to maintain consistent performance in high-pressure situations.
