Adjunct - Mathematics
Job no: 499143
Work type: Faculty
Location: Boise, ID
Categories: Adjunct Faculty
The First Year Math Program (FYM) at Boise State provides support and instruction for foundational mathematics courses, andup through precalculus. These courses are closely coordinated to ensure consistency in instruction and student support across sections. FYM courses are: MATH 103, 133, 143, 144, and 149.
The Mathematics Department offers a full range of college-level courses, including calculus and more advanced subjects such as linear algebra, differential equations, and abstract mathematics. These classes support both general education and specialized study for STEM and math majors. Some Math Department courses are coordinated, and if you are selected to teach, you would be connected with the course coordinator for support and guidance.
FYM and the Math Department maintain a shared pool of adjuncts who are able to teach primarily in-person classes. Classes meet during the typical workday with some early morning and evening sections available as well. Courses are coordinated in terms of materials and assessments; attendance at some coordination meetings may be required. Adjuncts can teach up to 11 credits per semester; this could include a mix of courses across Math and FYM.
