Volt is immediately hiring for a Quality Inspector in Nampa, ID.
*New Facility with lots of growth opportunities!
As a Quality Inspector you will:
- Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) and daily QC activities, including in-process, final, and component inspections.
- Inspect boards produced from SMT and hand/machine assembly processes.
- Operate AOI programs and other inspection tools to verify product quality.
- Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate quality issues to SMT teams, managers, and engineers.
- Support engineering activities related to quality improvement and compliance.
- Assist with internal audits and maintain accurate documentation.
- Implement improvements to QA procedures and systems.
- Perform technician-level tasks such as hand soldering when inspections are not required.
- Follow company policies and safety practices.
Schedule: Day Shift, Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Drug Test Required
- IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and J-STD-001 certifications.
- 3-5 years of QC experience in PCB assembly manufacturing or 10 years of related field experience.
- Experience in electronics, aerospace, or semiconductor manufacturing QA.
- Strong knowledge of SMT processes and PCB assembly defect types.
- Proficiency with inspection tools (microscopes, magnifiers, calipers, multimeters).
- Familiarity with AOI, X-ray, and BGA inspection.
- Ability to read and interpret BOMs, work instructions, and checklists.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and safety practices.
- Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook; ERP system experience is a plus.
- Certified J-STD Inspector.
- Experience with Class 2 & 3 standards.
- Ability to perform 100% inspection using ring lamps and microscopes.
