Job Description
The Manufacturing Quality Technician is accountable for protecting our customers by ensuring only compliant materials enter and exit the plant. This role combines comprehensive inspection and testing of incoming raw materials, in-process components, and finished composite decking products with data-driven analysis to prevent defects and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities include auditing quality processes, maintaining documentation and calibrations, and communicating issues to support timely resolution. By identifying process improvement opportunities and collaborating cross-functionally, the technician helps ensure product reliability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
12.5 hour shifts available;
A shift; Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, every other Saturday 6:30am to 7:00pm
C shift Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, every other Saturday 6:30am to 7:00pm
Starting Wage DOE and Qualification is $24.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Measurement and test equipment use and calibrations including hand tools, gauges, optical tools, balances, color meters, and force measuring instruments.
- Accurate data entry and analysis methods.
- Quality management system compliance.
- Process improvement and problem-solving approaches.
- Area management and housekeeping best practices.
- Risk assessment reasoning.
- Nonconforming materials and rework handling.
- Sampling plans and proper sample preparation.
- Inspection techniques and processes.
- Auditing.
Core Skills:
- Writing Skills: Write clear, simple sentences, complete technical forms, and apply basic math concepts like estimation and spatial reasoning.
- Reading Skills: Interpret manuals, safety instructions, reports, and understand images, graphs, and coding systems in the work area.
- Oral Skills: Communicate effectively, respond to questions, and collaborate with supervisors and team members to support plant improvements.
- Motivation: Take responsibility for assignments, improve skills, and set personal goals with actionable strategies.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a continuous manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as scheduled.
- Proficiency with using a computer.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Proficiency differentiating shades of color.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills.
- At least 18 years of age.
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong English, reading, and writing skills for career advancement, including the ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedural documents.
- Previous forklift operation experience.
- Previous manufacturing experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift, push, and pull, up to 50 pounds.
- Stand and walk around for a 12.5+ hour shift.
- Perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and kneeling.
- Ability to operate various different styles of forklifts
- Wear and operate required safety equipment, including earplugs and safety shoes and glasses.
- Must have proficient color shade sight for materials inspection.
- Read printed reports and data displayed on computer screens.
- Fine motor skills to operate tools, including chop saws, staple guns, calipers and other test equipment.
The use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety eyewear, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection, is mandatory in designated areas. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is often exposed to hot and wet and/or humid conditions; occasionally moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
