The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant 2 to support the South Region Manager and the Operations Division Administrator. The South Region Manager oversees southern Idaho parks and reports to the Operations Division Administrator, who leads park operations statewide. Based at our Boise headquarters, this position plays a vital role in facilitating communication, tracking projects, and supporting agency initiatives across multiple park locations.
This is a full-time position based in our Boise headquarters, with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, and includes a full benefits package. The office is ideally located near the scenic Boise River and adjacent to the Boise River Greenbelt, providing easy access to walking trails, fishing areas, and nearby restaurants. Your work will directly contribute to the effectiveness of state park operations and provide regular interaction with park management, regional staff, agency leadership, state and federal partners, elected officials, and the public.
We are seeking a candidate with strong administrative and communication skills, who takes initiative and manages priorities effectively. Ideal applicants will have experience supporting high-level leadership, working across teams, and navigating large or public organizations where understanding procedures is essential. Knowledge of government structure, legal terminology, or financial recordkeeping is a plus but not required.
