Job Title: Finished Goods Shipping and Receiving Material Handler

Location: Nampa, ID

This position is for C shift - Thursday through Sunday and E/O Wednesday from 7:00am - 7:00pm.

Job Summary:

The Finished Goods Shipping and Receiving Material Handler is responsible for all shipping of finished goods and receiving of packaging materials. This position is also responsible for entering all the shipping and receiving information into the ERP system.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Shipping and receiving of products and materials.

  • Operate a forklift to move raw materials, packaging, finished product and other materials from one location to another.

  • Load 53 foot trailers with a lift truck.

  • Accurately complete trailer inspections as well as material inspections for inbound and outbound shipments.

  • Use a computer and company systems to track all material movement transactions

  • Create barcode tags for new materials.

  • Print and prepare all shipping documents for outbound loads.

  • File shipping and receiving paperwork.

  • Manage weekly truck schedule.

  • Combine partial pallets to optimize shipping weights.

  • Monitor stock rotation ensuring FEFO principals are being used when shipping finished goods.

  • Perform routine cycle counts on finished goods and materials.

  • Follow detailed processes for assigned work to ensure proper completion

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Observe all GMP, Food Safety, and Employee Safety requirements.

  • Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift - 12 hours

  • Must be able to safely lift to 40 lbs.

  • Must be able to get on and off a forklift in a safe manner multiple times per shift

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred

  • Technical / Trade School preferred

Experience:

  • Prior forklift/material handling experience in a manufacturing environment, 1 year or more preferred

  • Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems

  • Experience with shipping and receiving and good understanding of BOLs, seals and general warehouse practices

  • Prior experience working in the food industry is preferred

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate (verbal, read, write) effectively in English

  • Ability to plan work and manage multiple priorities at once

  • Ability to anticipate problems related to shipping & receiving and solve them as as they arise

  • Computer skills (data entry and ERP systems in a production environment)

  • Basic math skills, including competency with weights and measures (must be able to take/record measurements and understand tare weight)
