Compensation: Starting at $65,000 per year~ with room to grow!

The Compliance Coordinator will work across departments to ensure company compliance with a broad range of laws, regulations, and internal policies. The Compliance Coordinator must be detail-oriented, principled, confident in his or her own assessments of compliance matters and must be able to communicate complex issues to a broad audience.

What You Will Do

• Manage compliance policies and procedures applicable to retail furniture business to ensure they are updated, document controlled, and changes are communicated as needed.
• Work closely with our buying team in Boise, ID to ensure that purchased merchandise and outside vendors meet internal, external, and federally mandated quality control and testing standards.
• Manage company-wide compliance with various state and federal regulatory regimes including Prop 65, state bedding and upholstered furniture regulations, CPSC and CPSIA compliance, Lacey ACT, STURDY ACT, etc.
• Interpret complex furniture testing reports and quality control audit findings, and to make informed recommendations aligned with applicable compliance and regulatory standards.
• Track performance data, ensure accurate record keeping, and implement consistent follow-up to support quality and compliance objectives.
• Negotiate and manage e-supplier agreements to align pricing, delivery, and quality standards with joint venture policies and compliance requirements.
• Understand and implement compliance plans and audits in various non-product areas including consumer privacy and data protection, federal trade, anti-bribery and corruption laws, and various internal policies.
• Help foster a culture of honesty and accountability through positive informative communications and messaging.
• Ensure compliance and safety for our products in store and online have proper standards, testing protocols, instructions, packaging, and labeling.
• Maintain deep subject matter expertise of industry trends, regulatory compliance matters and relevant retail knowledge both inside and outside of Scandinavian Designs.
• Assist the Legal Department as needed with additional compliance-related tasks.
• Perform other special projects or duties when required.

Who You Are

• 4-5+ years of compliance or similar experience strongly preferred.
• Retail furniture compliance experience is preferred, but other compliance experience in healthcare or other retail industries is also appreciated.
• Understanding of retail network systems and processes and familiarity with governing agencies, testing organization and related entities is appreciated.
• Project management and team leadership experience a plus.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to execute and deliver results.
• This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
• Prolonged sitting, standing, moderate reaching and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Occasional overtime and weekend work and travel to other locations.
• Our positions require successfully completing the pre-employment background check and signing a nondisclosure agreement.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree is required.
