The Finance - Global Construction Controller team is looking for a Construction and Grants Control Manager to support regional (US) construction projects. We are looking for a person who has successfully led construction capital spend, improving operational performance, and delivering outstanding outcomes.

The Construction and Grant Controls Manager drives financial construction controls and construction grants management (e.g. CHIPS Act) across a regional construction portfolio. You will work in a fast-paced and multifaceted environment influencing decisions and driving outcomes. You will analyze construction budgets and spending, ensuring investments meet corporate targets and cash flow needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key liaison between Finance and construction teams
  • Partner with our global team of regional construction controllers
  • Facilitate cross-functional teamwork
  • Attend construction project meetings to collect real time views of progress, risks, and opportunities
  • Highlight opportunities to reduce risk and improve cost, schedule, and cashflow
  • Financial Management & Reporting
  • Generate and maintain project dashboards on construction cost, schedule, cashflow and risk
  • Ensure accurate reporting of actual and forecast values. Evaluate and explain variances
  • Maintain financial transparency across construction projects
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Partner with construction teams to develop accurate baseline and forecasted costs
  • Validate estimates and improve forecast accuracy
  • Collect and maintain historical data including costs, schedules, and scope
  • Drive for best-in-class construction and facility cost by understanding competitive benchmarks and internal objectives
  • Capital Governance
  • Improve capital allocation processes compliance (e.g. initial approvals and change management) to achieve greater value for the company
  • Develop budget walks and lessons learned with construction teams during project execution and at project completion
  • Leverage and align construction and capital finance tools (Procore, SAP, Snowflake)

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure adherence with Micron construction and grant processes across jurisdictions
  • Participate in project control and grants management improvement efforts leveraging procedures
  • Analyze project data and reports to identify risks and opportunities
  • Construction Incentive Grants Management & Forecasting
  • Monitor project progress, review grant accruals, analyze project performance relative to the original forecast, investigate and remedy, where possible, any deviations to the plan
  • Model the project costs and provide quarterly grant forecast for budgeting and cashflow analysis
  • Analyze business forecasts and scenarios to understand the financial impact on the grants and identify the appropriate actions and strategy to optimize the grant utilization
  • Drive collaboration and ensure accountability with project partners to provide the information needed for timely and accurate grant accruals and forecast
  • Support grant reviews with Global Operations, Finance Leadership and project owners on the grant status

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience in project controls, quantity surveying, financial management focused on construction
  • Expertise in capital project controls or quantity surveying (e.g. estimating, scheduling, cost control, earned value, risk management)
  • Proficiency in analytical and data visualization tools
  • Proven use of AI tools
  • Experience overseeing financial expenditure on large capital programs in manufacturing, semiconductor, or high-tech industries
  • Ambitious, intellectually curious, high-energy level, passionate about identifying and implementing improvement opportunities
  • Ability to perform in an environment characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA a plus
