Douglas County is accepting applications for a Data Analyst in the Information Technology Department. The Data Analyst role is a nonexempt, on-site position that reports directly to the Project and Software Manager. This position is responsible for assisting departments and agencies with the development and use of data analysis and reporting solutions to drive improvements to the County's services. The experienced Data Analyst will use a variety of software and visualization tools to ensure a successful data analytics practice for the County, including Power BI and other Microsoft apps.

The successful candidate should have:

  • a minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in collecting and analyzing statistical technical data, data analysis and interpretation, and/or research work or quality assurance, preferably with SQL tools, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Tableau;
  • a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Management Sciences, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience);
  • extensive knowledge in data collection and reporting, statistical analysis, SQL, Microsoft Reporting Services, principles and techniques of tracking and analyzing data, and standard resource and investigation methodologies, practices, and procedures;
  • highly developed skills in data presentation, creating and automating statistical reports, and designing and creating Power BI dashboards and SSRS reports;
  • proven abilities in problem-solving, effective communication, and accuracy and attention to detail;
  • a valid driver's license and acceptable background check results;
  • current and complete authorization to work for any employer in the United States.
